North Central States

Hub City Livestock Auction - Aberdeen SD

Compared to last week: steers 750 to 1049 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 higher except 800 to 849 lbs not well compared, instances up to 15.00 higher on 750 to 799 lbs. Best test on heifers 750 to 799 lbs 10.00 to 13.00 higher on a narrow comparison. Very good demand for all classes of cattle today. Many finishing type cattle on offer again this week, most selling in loads and strings, in moderate to heavy flesh. Quality on loads mostly average to attractive, more plain to average cattle featured in packages.

Nice offering of yearlings along with weaned fall calves on offer with packages of bawling calves mixed in the run. Compared to last week steers over 600 lbs sold steady to 5.00 higher and heifers over 500 lbs sold steady to 10.00 higher. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd and on the internet.

 

South Central States

OKC West - El Reno OK

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 5.00-15.00 higher, heifers up to 20.00 higher. Demand extremely good following cash slaughter cattle trade taking place at 255.00 and dressed trade hitting the 400.00 mark. Cattle futures took a little breather today trading mixed to a little lower. Quality average to attractive.

 

Clovis Livestock Auction - Clovis, NM

Compared to last weeks sale; Steer calves 300-450 lbs sold steady-higher and 450-650 lbs were lower. Feeder steers 750-800 lbs sold higher. Heifer calves 400-600 lbs sold higher and there wasn't any comparable numbers of feeder heifers. Market was uneven on larger numbers with active trade. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 3.00-5.00 lower. Excellent buyer attendance.

Compared to last week, the steers and heifers under 700 lbs. sold mostly 10.00 to 15.00 higher. There were three loads of yearling steers, straight off wheat pastures, that weighed 750-850 lbs. in the offering that sold from 377.50-386.00/cwt. It was a lighter offering again this week, with some heavy storms rolling through the area the past couple of days. Demand was very good on a moderate to light supply.

Demand good. Supply moderate. Strong feeder offering of good quality fall calves weighing mostly from 400-625 lbs.
