North Central States

Hub City Livestock Auction - Aberdeen SD

Compared to last week: yearling cattle too lightly tested today for comparison. Best test on steer calves 500 to 599 lbs 20.00 lower with instances up to 40.00 lower on 550 to 599 lbs, 600 to 649 lbs mostly steady, 650 to 699 lbs 6.00 to 8.00 lower. Moderate to good demand for both yearlings and calves today. 

 

Bassett Livestock Auction - Bassett NE

A limited number of comparable offerings from last week. Today's auction started with over 540 weigh ups then onto Spade heifers and yearlings followed by non-weaned Spring calves. The market showed a downward trend for the day, demand was moderate to good with active internet bidding. 

 

Huss Livestock Market - Kearney NE

Compared to last week steer calves 500-700 lbs sold steady to 15.00 lower and heifer calves 400-600 lbs sold steady to 25.00 lower. Demand was moderate from the buyers in the crowd with internet activity noticed. Most all the calves had received fall vaccinations and a few packages were weaned.

OKC West - El Reno OK

Compared to last week: Feeder steers over 850lbs 5.00-10.00 higher, under 850lbs 12.00-20.00 lower. Feeder heifers 8.00-10.00 lower. Stocker type heifers 30.00 lower. Wednesday's feeder market was crazy to say the least. Two buyers had 9 weight steer orders that were very aggressive.

Winter Livestock - Dodge City, KS

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold 5.00 to 20.00 lower across all weight brackets. Larger, reputation lots sold better than smaller packages of feeders and calves. Boning utility sold steady strong while Lean utility sold steady to 4.00 to 5.00 lower.

Bloomfield Livestock Market - Bloomfield, IA

Compared to the sale two weeks ago, both steers and heifers were sharply lower. Demand was very good today. Supply was moderate to heavy and included active internet bidding.

 

Springfield Livestock Auction - Springfield MO

Compared to last week, steers weighing 400lb - 600lbs sold unevenly from 2.00 higher to 8.00 lower, and heifers sold with a lower undertone, all based on limited weight comparisons from last week. Demand was light for the unweaned and short weaned, plain quality calves that made up the majority of the offering today and supply was light.

 

South Central Regional Stockyards - Vienna MO

Roanoke Stockyard - Roanoke AL

Compared to one week ago: Feeder steers and bulls sold 6.00 to 8.00 lower, feeder heifers sold sharply lower. Slaughter cows sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower, slaughter bulls sold 2.00 higher. Replacement cows and pairs sold mostly steady.

 

Blue Grass Stockyards - Albany KY

Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 4.00 to 6.00 lower with some instances of up to 12.00 lower. Feeder heifers sold 5.00 to 8.00 lower with some instances of 10.00 to 15.00 lower. Several fleshy bawling calves in todays sale. Weaned, preconditioned feeders with favorable condition still bringing premiums.  Slaughter cows and bulls sold 5.00 to 8.00 lower.
