Compared to last week (2-24-26): Feeder steers were to lightly tested to develop any market trend. Feeder heifers 450-499 lbs heifers offered the best test this week selling generally steady. All other weights of heifers were too lightly tested to develop any market trend. Feeder cattle were mostly offered in small packages or as singles this week with barely enough feeders to build a single load. Quality was mostly average this week.

Compared to last Tuesday sale slaughter cows on a limited supply mostly steady slaughter bulls steady instances 6.00 lower. Replacement cows going back to feed or being bred firm with good demand. Feeder calves on a uneven market with lower undertones noted. Demand moderate to good.
South Central:
Winter Livestock - La Junta, CO

Trade activity and demand was moderate. Feeder steers under 700 sold unevenly steady. Feeder heifers sold mostly sharply lower across all weight classes. Replacement heifers sold strong. Steers over 700 sold 10.00 to 11.00 lower. Boner slaughter cows of average dressing sold 2.00 higher while lean cows sold 2.00 lower. Slaughter bulls of average dressing sold 2.00 lower.

Compared to last sale: Feeder steers and heifers 5.00-10.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves unevenly steady with a lower undertone noted. Quality today ranged anywhere from plain to attractive with several drafts of fancy and replacement heifers. Demand strong.
OKC West Livestock Auction - El Reno, OK

Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves 10.00-20.00 lower, conservatively. Today's sale felt like October, front-end cattle were unweaned with alot of thin fleshed plainer type cattle. Buyers were very cautious and definitely didn't get in each other's way.

Compared to last week: Not enough comparable sales on all classes of steers for a market trend, but a lower undertone was noted on heavier weight yearlings. Heifers traded mostly 5.00 to 7.00 higher on limited comparable sales. Quality was mixed. A really nice set replacement quality heifers with a good weigh up sold with notable buyer demand, as some producers are slowly trying to increase their herds. Trading activity was moderate to active on good buyer demand. Slaughter cows and bulls traded mostly 3.00 higher.

Feeder heifers 400 lbs and under were sharply lower, while the 450-600 lbs heifers were steady to 6.00 lower with a good supply and good demand. Slaughter cows were steady to 2.00 lower and slaughter bulls appeared steady with a light test.
