Billings Livestock Commission Cattle Auction - Billings, MT

Compared to last sale (6-11-26): Feeder cattle were all too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however higher undertones were noticed on all offerings. Quality this week was mixed from plain to average. Demand was moderate to good for very light offerings. Group sizes were small with many singles noticed.

Market report for today's Special Feeder Sale: It has been three weeks since our last feeder auction a trend will not be given for steers or heifers. Demand was good with active bidding at the barn and out of state bidders on the internet. The auction started the day with yearling steers and heifers off grass, then onto Fall calf offerings.

 

South Central:

Apache Livestock Auction - Apache, OK

Compared to last week: Feeder steers 5.00 to 8.00 higher. Feeder heifers 4.00 to 10.00 higher. Steer calves and heifer calves mostly 5.00 to 15.00 higher. Quality average to attractive with good demand. Slaughter cows 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Slaughter bulls 2.00 higher.

 

Woodward Wtd Avg Cattle - Woodward OK

Compared to last week: There was a stronger turnout of better quality calves and feeders. There were few comparable sales to state a trend but sentiment favored a higher market. Demand followed the better quality cattle, while bidding on the plainer cattle seemed moderate.

Midwest: 

New Cambria Livestock Market - New Cambria, MO

Compared to the last sale two weeks ago, steers and heifers sold mostly 10.00 to 20.00 higher. Slaughter cows steady. A few extra buyers in the seats and an overall better outlook in the cattle sector boosted the market this week. Mostly smaller consignments of calves on offer with a few loads or part loads of backgrounded cattle available.

 

Southeast:

Bluegrass Stockyards South - Stanford KY

Paris Stockyards - Paris KY

Toppenish Livestock Auction - Toppenish, WA

Feeder cattle futures were down 30 cents to $1.10 on Thursday, as August was still $9.17 higher this week.  The market will be closed on Friday in observance of Juneteenth. Slaughter cows steady. Slaughter bulls 1.00-3.00 higher. Trade active with good demand.
