Compared to last sale (3-12-26): Feeder cattle were all too lightly tested to develop any market trend. Quality this week was mostly average. Demand was mostly moderate for light offerings. A moderate crowd was on hand for todays sale with a few additional buyers in the stands this week, despite light offerings. Market activity was moderate to active as a result.

Compared to last week: Feeder steers 750-1000 lbs. sold 3.00-8.00 higher, instances 11.00 higher. Trend not applicable due to sizes not comparable for heifers, undertone is unevenly steady, with a higher undertone on most. Demand was good. Many large load lots in todays offering.

Quality fair to average with several attractive sets. Slaughter cows mostly steady. Slaughter bulls 3.00 lower. A total of 242 cows and bulls sold with 58 percent going to packers.

Compared to last week, feeder steers 500 lb to 950 lb sold 3.00 to 10.00 higher. Not enough steers under 500 lb for a market test, however a higher trend was noted. An outstanding offering of high quality steers were available today. Feeder heifers 700 lb to 950 lb sold unevenly steady from 5.00 lower to 5.00 higher. A lower trend was noted on heifers under 700 lb, however thin fleshed and fancy heifer calves sold steady to higher. Demand was good for steers. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher. Slaughter bulls sold steady.

Compared to last week, steers over 500 lbs sold steady to weak while under 500 lbs sold sharply higher. Heifers over 650 lbs sold steady to weak while under 500 lbs to 650 lbs sold 10.00 to 20.00 higher, while under 500 lbs sold sharply higher. Quality and condition varied due to calves coming off wheat and off cow. Several fancy, reputation heifers sold as replacements. Good demand for heavy supply.

Compared to last week: There was a more positive sentiment this week as most classes of steers sold higher on few comparable sales. Feeder heifers sold 10.00-12.00 lower. Much of this weeks offering is coming off of short wheat. Slaughter cattle were in higher demand this week. Average to high yielding boner cows brought 6.00-14.00 higher. Both trade and demand were active.
