Compared to last sale (2-19-26): Feeder cattle were all too lightly tested last sale to develop an accurate market trend, however steady to higher undertones were noticed. Demand was mostly good to very good for moderate offerings. Quality this week was mostly average to attractive. Demand for cattle suitable to go to grass was good to very good, while demand for cattle too big to go to grass was mostly good.

Valentine Livestock Auction - Valentine NE

Today's bred Female and heifer auction started the day with 27 bulls followed by dispersion and liquidations. Bred cows and heifers consisted of black, black white face and a few Hereford offerings bred to Black Angus bulls and Hereford bulls, calving March to April. All offerings in good condition ready to calve.

Compared to last week: There were too few comparable sales on all classes to determine a trend but a lower undertone was noted. The only exception were 700-750 pound steers, they seemed to remain steady to slightly higher on stronger demand. Slaughter cattle followed suit on a short test. Trading was mostly moderate on a plainer offering of cattle.
