Striking workers at the JBS meatpacking plant in Greeley are heading back to work. After a three-week walkout, nearly 3,800 employees are scheduled to return for the 5 AM shift tomorrow, Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

The United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 7 ended the strike after JBS agreed to return to the bargaining table.

Here is the current situation:

No Contract Yet: Workers are returning without a signed agreement. JBS’s current "last, best and final offer" (which includes wage hikes and a pension) remains the baseline.

Talks Resume: Formal negotiations are locked in for April 9 and 10, 2026.

Unresolved: The union is still pushing for higher wages to combat inflation and better safety protocols, while JBS aims to normalize operations at a facility that handles 5% of the nation's beef.
