McDonald's has reported its largest U.S. same-store sales drop since mid-2020, when many states were locked down due to Covid. This time around, it was budget-conscious customers and bad weather that proved a drag on the chain's sales. Revenue also dropped about 3% in the first quarter of the year.
McDonald's isn't the only fast-food player suffering in this economy, though: Yum Brands, which owns KFC and Taco Bell, posted a revenue miss Wednesday.
